The Greek dance is a journey without end, begun since the dawn of Greek civilization. Passed down from generation to generation, dance is one of the oldest traditions that continuously promotes national identity and integrity. Each region of Greece has played an important role in shaping the style of local traditional dances.

Enjoy the vibrant world of Kefalonia and Greek dance in Argostoli and Farsa, where participants have the opportunity to learn traditional dances under the guidance of professional teacherand choreagrapher Maria. These unique experiences offer a deep insight into the culture through guided walks and live dance performances. Explore the different plants, trees and flowers and observe the unique fauna of the Koutavos lagoon.

Discover the traditional dances that are as alive today as they were in ancient times and dance them in their natural places to learn that dance has always played an important role in the lives of the Greeks as an expression of human emotions and daily life. Create unique memories on a walk to old Farsa to reach the dance place of Mussia and experience unforgettable moments on a hike along the Vrachos path to reach the exotic beach of Lygia for a sea inspired dance repertoire.

Cultural and dance trip in Kefalonia from Kefalonia Active Dance

For the first time and with pride we present our cultural and dance trip to Kefalonia with professional Greek dance lessons, gentle walks, cooking, wine tasting, fishing tour, nice accommodation and fun excursions. Lots of Greek dancing, memorable experiences and fun!
Under the guidance of professional teacher Maria Voutsina you will learn several traditional Greek dances and during our excursions we will tell you more about the rich Kefalonia culture and the island’s beautiful nature.

Apart from dance lessons, we have programmed some excursion days. You will have the opportunity to visit the fascinating Melissani lake and Drogarati cave, two of the most beautiful sites in Kefalonia. We will be visiting some villages and interesting locations in order to tell you more about the rich Kefalonian culture, tradition and nature and to taste the unique wines of Kefalonia. You will join a guided fishing tour for picking the fish from the nets, eating the delicious food and exploring beautiful beaches. After a walking tour in old Farsa village you will visit a local family tavern to uncover the secrets of Kefalonian food with a traditional cooking experience, eating, and get a taste of Greek hospitality.

Your teacher and guide Maria was born in Greece. For many years she taught Greek dancing in Greece and elsewhere in Europe and in a University in USA. This cultural and dance holiday is both for beginners and for more advanced Greek dance lovers. Let’s dance!

  • Day 1: arrival at Kefalonia Airport.Transfer to hotel Ionian Plaza in Argostoli
  • Day 2: City tour to Argostoli 10 am – 12 noon; Lunch 12:30; Dance lesson 4.30 pm 6.30 pm
  • Day 3: 9.30 am departure for excursion to old Farsa village with a guided walk; Cooking in Astrolavos local tavern; lunch in Astrolavos; Guided walk to Lygia beach and dance lesson in sunset ; transfer to Argostoli
  • Day 4: Dance lesson 10 am – 12 noon; 4.30 pm – 6.30 pm
  • Day 5: 9.30 am departure for excursion to Melissani lake and Drograratti cave ; transfer to Omala area for wine tasting and visit to the sacred monastery Saint Gerasimos; transfer to Argostoli
  • Day 6 : Dance lesson 10 am – 12 noon; 4.30 pm – 6.30 pm
  • Day 7: 9:30 departure for fishing tour lunch included; farewell dinner in Argostoli
  • Day 8: Transfer from Hotel to Kefalonia Airport

  • 1265 Euro per person, based on a double room. Surcharge for single room: 400 Euro.

Mussia dance workshop and guided walk in old Farsa

Our tour starts early in the morning to see the sunrise through the buildings and learn about the cultural life and history of old Farsa. We will take a guided walk through old Farsa to reach the dancing place Mussia.

In Mussia, you will have the opportunity to learn Greek dances accompanied by Greek music, lasting about an hour. After the dance session, you will take another guided walk back to the meeting point, where you will be offered Traditional drinks.

Melissokipos walking tour inspired by local cultural activities and Greek dance workshop

Our tour starts early in the morning to see the sunrise through the buildings and learn about the cultural life and history of ancient Farsa. We will take a guided walk through old Farsa to reach Melissokipos and see the agricultural facilities of the locals from the old times.

The next stop will be at the dance place of Mussia. In Mussia you will have the opportunity to learn Greek dances through a deep cultural journey accompanied by Greek music for about an hour. After dancing, we will take another guided walk back to the starting point where you will be offered traditional drinks.
